How do you Respond?

Rev Julie Shannon
Have you ever been travelling along reasonably OK and out of the blue something happens that rocks the very foundations of your life as you know it?  These trials of life and the pain that seems to always come with them are inevitable; we can’t escape them because we live in an imperfect world with imperfect people.

We do however have the ability to choose how we respond in these times; We can either run to or from God, we can either forgive or become bitter, we can either trust or allow suspicion to rule us, we can either process our grief with God or push it down and ignore it, we can either look only at others or choose to look inside ourselves. There are always choices in this life and our model for how to react in any situation is God.  Think of how He feels when those that He loves hurt Him?  How does He react, what does he do and what are His motives and intentions?  As Christians we are meant to become more and more like Jesus Christ; this is not an easy process; it can be so painful sometimes that we feel we cant go on.  But be assured that He is always for you and never against you, He loves you with the purest love and He will never leave nor forsake you.  No matter what!

“I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way.I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them.Yes, I will indeed do these things;I will not forsake them.”
